Welcome to Cori’s Corner!

If you don’t know me, then hi there! My name is Cori, I’m the Operations Manager here at Biscuits Cat Haven, and I’m so happy to meet you!

I officially joined the team in early 2025, and I have been having a blast continuing the cat rescue work that means so much to me closer to home, right here in Tomball, Texas, where I have lived for almost my entire life.

In 2022, I entered the non-profit cat rescue world when I began volunteering at, and soon after working for, a sanctuary rescue located in Houston. I’m constantly telling friends, family, and new connections how much of a life changing choice this would end up being for me, as I quickly realized how deeply this mission resonated with me, and how I see myself working towards it for years and years to come.

One thing that always stuck with me in my time there, however, was how much I wished that I could more directly help the cats in my own backyard (sometimes literally). It may not seem like much, but oftentimes the distance between Tomball and Houston made a world of difference in what resources were available to cats and families in need, and it struck me that I could become part of a positive change that I hoped to see.

And so, after months of talking to Shawna, the Executive Director here at Biscuits Cat Haven, and my own family, who knew how much of a leap of faith this would be for me as someone who is both a young adult in an ever-changing world and a relatively new face in animal rescue, I took the plunge and officially joined the team.

I have not regretted it for a single day.

Now, I want to share my experiences as I continue to learn and evolve, and to grow our community together, all while taking you on this journey with me!

Cori’s Corner is going to be our rescue blog where I share the day-to-day happenings of our rescue, the cats we care for, new and useful information that we learn, and more!

Our Mission

Building Community

From working with other cat rescues, shelters, sanctuaries, and transfer services to serve and save as many cats as possible, to working with local small businesses to help uplift and promote positivity and growth, we want to do our part to build up our community.

Rescue, Rehab, Rehome

Actively creating a community where fewer cats end up in rescues, shelters, and sanctuaries by educating people of all ages on the importance of proper care for companion animals, providing access to spay/neuter programs, and placing as many cats as possible into permanent homes through adoption and cat colony development.
